Which charger is right for my home or society? +
For individual homes and villas, the 3.3 kW AC charger is sufficient for overnight charging. For housing societies (RWAs) and corporate offices, the 7.4 kW AC Type 2 charger is recommended. For larger properties, hotels, and commercial establishments, DC fast chargers at 30 kW or 60 kW offer rapid charging for multiple vehicles simultaneously. Final selection depends on a site visit and power availability assessment.
What is the difference between AC and DC chargers? +
AC chargers supply alternating current to the vehicle's on-board charger, which then converts it to DC for the battery — making them slower (3.3 kW to 7.4 kW, typically 5–12 hours). DC chargers convert power externally and deliver direct current straight to the battery, enabling much faster charging (30–120 kW, typically 30 minutes to 2 hours for most EVs). DC fast chargers are ideal for public locations with high vehicle throughput.
How does the EZ Charge App work? +
Download the EZ Charge App from the Play Store or App Store. You can locate the nearest charger, check its live availability, start and stop a charging session via the app or RFID card, pay using any UPI app, and track your energy consumption and cost history. The Trip Planner feature helps you plan long-distance EV journeys by showing charging stations along your route.
Is financing available for installing commercial EV chargers? +
Yes. Tata Power has partnered with SBI under the EV Mitra scheme to support MSMEs with preferential interest rates for EV charging infrastructure. This covers both public and captive charging installations. Loan eligibility, rates, and terms are governed by SBI's policies. Contact our sales team at 1800-833-2233 for details.
What are the protection features on EZ Charge DC fast chargers? +
All DC fast chargers include input over/under voltage protection, input short circuit and over current protection, surge protection up to 4 kV, residual leakage current protection (30 mA), ground fault and earth presence monitoring, output over current protection, over-temperature derating and shutdown, insulation resistance monitoring, reverse battery connection protection, and an emergency stop button. EMI/EMC compliance is per IEC 61000 series standards.

The SICHARGE RC 120 delivers up to 120 kW of DC output across two CCS2 cables with dynamic power sharing — allowing flexible distribution of 90/30, 60/60, or 30/90 kW.
